Overview

God can heal; this is a truth clearly evident from Scripture. We can agree, with absolute certainty, that God still possesses the power to do the miraculous. In The Healing Promise Richard Mayhue provides straight answers without compromising the Bible or God's miraculous power.

The Healing Promise includes

  • A special interview with Joni Eareckson Tada where she talks about coping with the attitudes towards healing she encounters every day
  • A chapter by André Kole, the man behind many of David Copperfield's illusions, on techniques used in healing meetings.
  • An Interview with John and Patricia MacArthur about their experiences when Patricia was badly injured in a car accident

Top Highlights

“These passages from Acts, 2 Corinthians, and Hebrews teach that God’s primary purpose for the miracles He worked through men was to authenticate His messengers as bearing a true revelation from God.” (Page 168)

“Diseases can be categorized into one of two types: functional or organic.” (Page 46)

“The fact is that much of what appears to be taking place in many faith-healing services today is not divine healing, but magical trickery. Often what people see and think is supernatural is simply the illusion of the supernatural.” (Page 38)

“Next, if healing is in the atonement and if it applies physically today, those who ask by faith for physical healing and are not healed have no logical right to be assured of their salvation.” (Page 109)

“Finally comes God’s response. I believe God always answers prayer. He can do it either through permission or revision. That is, He can respond ‘Yes’ or ‘Another way.’” (Page 191)

I only wonder if a promise that was ratified by the Son of God by His blood, can be conditionally denied because of a situation that 'we' are the reason for it not to be fulfilled. In other words, can I a mere human being dictate God's will which was ratified, so much so, that it is called a Promise. Can a promise be denied? If so, why call it a promise? Why call it the Word of God? Just thinking. I have been healed by the Lord in the past, both by means and directly by divine intervention. Al Sosa
