Alfred Nevin (1816–1890) was a Presbyterian minister, lawyer, and scholar. He was educated at Jefferson College and Western Seminary. Nevin served as chaplain at Satterlee Army General Hospital in Philadelphia during the Civil War, and wrote several books, including Churches of the Valley, History of the Presbytery of Philadelphia and of the Philadelphia Central, and A Popular Commentary on the Gospel according to Luke.
