Overview

The Targums of Onkelos and Jonathan ben Uzziel on the Pentateuch offers readers English translations of two important volumes of Aramaic paraphrases on the Books of the Old Testament. The translation, made directly from the Chaldee, is strictly ad literam, and preserves the idiomatic characteristics of the original. The first volume includes an in-depth introduction on the origin, history, and character of the Targums, and the translations of Genesis and Exodus. Volume two of The Targums of Onkelos and Jonathan ben Uzziel on the Pentateuch includes a 76-page glossary for both volumes and the translations for Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
